The formation of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences commenced with the establishment of the Higher School of Science in the year 1937, which developed over the years and later became the Faculty
of Mathematical Sciences.
It was launched as a department in the Faculty of Science and became an independent unit, the School of Mathematical Sciences, in the year 1978.
In the year 1995 the School of Mathematical Sciences became the Faculty
of Mathematical Sciences.
The academic departments are grouped into five sections as listed below. The Faculty presently offer, at the under-graduate level, four years course leading to one on the following qualifications:
The Faculty also offers Mastership degrees and Doctoral Programme leading to the award of a PhD
All schemes are taught at the campus, AlGamaa Street, Khartoum.
